I'd also suggest the teams be made of varying ages, to begin with. Once they begin to play and we get skill levels ranked, we may need to do some re-arranging.

Keep this in mind when you are recruiting or signing someone up. This fee needs to be paid when you sign them up or ABSOLUTELY before they play their first match! Each year, (indeed, each session) without fail, a team signs up a new person to their roster and lets them play their first match WITHOUT them paying the fees due; and inevitably, there's at least one team that gets caught and has to pay the fee when that person doesn't show back up for whatever reason.
The rules are: If a person plays during the first 4 weeks, they OWE the money! It means that they have agreed to play with your team and they will be entered as a new or re-newed player and the annual fee is due, regardless of the circumstances that come later. If that person plays a match and does not pay, the team---ultimately, the captain, IS OBLIGATED TO PAY ALL MONIES DUE. Don't let yourself or your team get charged with this money! Protect yourself! When someone fills out an application or plays a match,,,collect the money from them right then! It'll save a lot of headaches and heartache later!(Plus cut down on notes from the office and embarrassing past due notices on your scoresheet!) Fore-warned is fore-armed!! Love you guys!
